ST. PATRICK HOSPITAL
In June 1995 St. Patrick Hospital and the University of Montana formed The International Heart Institute of Montana to bring the world’s leading researchers and clinicians to Missoula to teach, study and conduct research on the treatment of valvular heart disease. Missoula’s Heart team includes surgeon’s, anesthesiologist, nurses and surgical techs. Currently, there are nine anesthesiologists that are members of the heart team: Doctors Bollen, Ehrlich, Fleming, Hoolsema, Kemple, Kirkeide, Lind, MacDonald, Morris, Propp and Sterbis.
St. Patrick Hospital has recently been upgraded to a Level 2 Trauma Center. The hospital’s emergency department treats more than 22,000 patients annually. St. Patrick Hospital also operates the Life Flight air ambulance and a “fixed-wing” transport. As the largest hospital in Missoula at this time, St. Patrick Hospital runs 7 operating rooms daily, Monday thru Friday.
The hospital boasts of western Montana’s most advanced cancer treatment and is the regional leader in mental health and addiction treatment.

COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER
Community Medical Center was founded in 1922 as the Thorton Hospital. By 1947 a community nonprofit corporation was formed and the hospital was renamed Memorial Hospital. By 1960 it was renamed again as Missoula Community Hospital and finally to Community Medical Center, Inc. in June of 1988. CMC was recently updated to a Level 3 Trauma Center.
Along with improving the quality of the facility, additional centers have been added to improve the care of patients. Included in the services offered are the Community Rehabilitation Center, three Physician centers, The Montana Breast Center, and the WORCcenter.
Community Medical Center is the only location for obstetric procedures and is home to the Rocky Mountain Perinatal Center.
Community Medical Center runs 5 operating rooms Monday thru Wednesday and 4 rooms Thursday and Friday. Missoula Anesthesiology also provides 24 hour obstetric call for labor and delivery.

BIG SKY SURGERY CENTER
Big Sky Surgery Center, LLC is a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center that opened in March of 1998. The center is a joint venture between Community Medical Center and the physicians, including Missoula Anesthesiology.
Open Monday through Friday, 6am-6pm, the center serves more than 4000 patients annually in it’s three general OR rooms and two procedure rooms. Procedures being performed include vascular, general, gynecology, opthamology, orthopedic, otorhinolaryngologic, plastic/reconstructive, podiatric, neurosurgery, urologic, special procedures and pain management.
Health care is delivered with a maximum of efficiency, economy, and timeliness. The center boasts of 95% satisfaction rate from it’s patients.
Currently, Big Sky surgery center runs three operating rooms daily and schedules a large number of pain management cases in addition.

PROVIDENCE SURGERY CENTER
Providence Surgery Center was established in 1997 by local physicians and St. Patrick Hospital to provide efficient and economical same day surgery for regional patients. Providence provides non-emergent care for patients throughout Montana, Idaho and surrounding areas. The medical staff includes surgeons from various specialties. Services offered include ear nose and throat, plastic and cosmetic surgery, orthopedics, gynecologic, pediatric, dental, general surgery, ophthalmic, urological and podiatry.
Providence Surgery Center runs 2 operation rooms daily and also schedules a large number of pain management cases.

MISSOULA BONE AND JOINT SURGERY CENTER
Missoula Bone and Joint Surgery Center was formed in May of 2001 as a strictly outpatient surgery center. MBJ staffs up to two rooms daily and specializes in orthopedic procedures. MBJ surgery center is reserved for MBJ surgeons only.
